She then got some of her friends on board. They knit up a storm and produced a whole collection of unique pencil cases. She also made sure to provide the contents as well. When I got to Addis I began to put the cases together....
Fully loaded, they were all ready for delivery....
We found a school sponsored by Hope Enterprise (see previous blog entry) on the outskirts of Addis, and prepared to drop off our gifts....
The principal gave us a tour and we found the perfect class....
With Luke as my trusty assistant, we began to deliver the one-of-a-kind cases....
Each child was curious and appreciative as they studied their new possession....
Including this little sweetheart....
Then they all raised them up for the final photo and a wave good bye....
Thanks to my sister, Leslie, and all her friends for creating such special little gifts. I can only imagine (because my first and only scarf is still unfinished) how much time, energy and love you must have put into every one! I know they will be appreciated for a long time to come!

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, Janice. You write with such honesty and feeling. I feel like I'm on an adventure that I would never have otherwise been able to witness.
I'm looking so forward to wherever you take us next! Keep it up - you're doing it all right. Big HUG.
